Plane Carrying US Defense Secretary Forced to Land in UK Because of Crack in Windshield
A plane transporting Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth was forced to make an emergency landing in the United Kingdom on Wednesday due to a fissure was identified in the aircraft's cockpit window, per an official announcement which verified that the secretary was unharmed.
"The aircraft touched down following standard procedures and all individuals on the flight, among them Pete Hegseth, is unharmed," a spokesperson commented in a social media post.
He was traveling back from a quick journey to the Belgian capital when the incident occurred.
This event isn't the first occasion that a United States armed forces jet ferrying a high-ranking official has encountered technical problems.
In a previous incident this year, a American military jet transporting Marco Rubio to Munich was compelled to head back to the US capital after suffering a technical issue.
