Barça to Host Inaugural Game at Partially Completed Camp Nou over the weekend

Barcelona have announced they are set to host at the renovated but unfinished Camp Nou on Saturday. Athletic Bilbao will visit the Bilbao team in domestic competition over two years since relocating to allow renovations to start.

“We’ve dreamed about the return. Now, it’s here. We’re back home. Back at Spotify Camp Nou.”

Attendance will be limited but 45,401 spectators are permitted inside under the licence granted. After final construction, the Camp Nou is due to hold almost 105,000 spectators, increasing from the former 99,000. The club said finished work included an updated entryway for the team and new dressing rooms.

Preparatory Events

Barça organized a public practice inside the stadium earlier this month. The club said approval is being pursued from European football’s governing body to host the next European match against Eintracht Frankfurt on 9 December in the renovated venue. Their recent games have been held in the temporary ground.
