Anthony Joshua Discharged from Hospital in Lagos Following Deadly Road Accident
The British boxer Anthony Joshua has been released from care, local government spokespeople stated on Wednesday night. The fighter was involved in a car accident in the Lagos area on the 29th of December, a devastating event that resulted in the deaths of two of his team members.
Healing from Light Wounds
Joshua had been under observation while healing from his light wounds, his management team had said on Monday. The Lagos state commissioner for information, Gbenga Omotoso, said in a statement online that Joshua was judged healthy enough to continue his recovery at home.
“Anthony and his mother were at the mortuary in Lagos this afternoon to pay their final respects to his two departed friends as they were being readied to be sent home,” the commissioner stated.
Remembering the Victims
The victims of the crash were identified as Latif Ayodele, a fitness coach, and Sina Ghami, a strength and conditioning coach. The official further stated that the champion was filled with sorrow and full of emotions over the passing of his two trusted companions.”
The news of his discharge arrives after the boxing community offered sympathy for the champion in the aftermath of the devastating accident.
